True or False: Face Washing Facts

face washing tips

Many of us never really learned how to properly wash our faces and I know a lot of you have gone to bed with their makeup on! Washing your face may seem like a no brainer but there are so many who still don’t do it properly and complain about skin issues.  Here are some tips on taking care of that pretty face of yours.

True or False:  It’s ok to fall asleep with your makeup.  False

Sleeping with your makeup on is a major no.  If you are too lazy to get up and remove your makeup with makeup remover and then wash it then please use a wipe.  The reason why sleeping with your makeup is so bad because it leads to clogged pores.  Which can lead to acne.  It also makes your skin absorb free radicals which leads to aging skin because essentially your skin can not breathe.  Sleeping with makeup on stops skin from renewing itself naturally at night, causing blackheads, acne and dullness.

True or False: Washing your face with hot water is best. False

Washing your face with very hot water will strip the moisture from it and leave it dry.  You have to wash your face with luke warm water.  The warm water will help remove the dirt.  If you wear a lot of makeup you have to remove it first then wash your face.  After you have removed your makeup then apply the face wash on your fingers or a damp washcloth. Rinse and pat dry, if you are acne prone pat with a paper towel.

True or False:  You should wash your face more than twice a day. False

Washing your  face more than twice a day can lead to irritation which can lead to acne and also it will make your skin lose its moisture. The rule is to use common sense: Always wash your face after a workout to prevent breakouts, and wash excessively oily skin morning and night. For very dry or sensitive skin, stick to cleansing once daily in the evening.

True or False:  Don’t exfoliate your face more than 3 times a week.  True.

Exfoliation is important because it helps new skin surface.  Leaving your skin glowing.  Always exfoliate in a circular motion.  Don’t press to hard, a little pressure goes a long way.  Pressing to hard can lead to irritation to your skin.  Exfoliating will also help in keeping pores clean and will help reduce acne.  If you are acne prone do not exfoliate more than  two times a week it can cause more oil production leading to an increase in acne.  Make sure you moisturize after you exfoliate.

True or False: Splashing cold water on your face will close your pores.  False

Your pores can’t shrink.  I have talked to many doctors and they all tell me the same thing.  You can keep pores clean and they will appear smaller but nothing can change the sizer of your pores.  Sorry folks!

I was thinking about this and i found your site by gooogle and I love it. I like the tips. I need to exfoliate more than once a month because i thought if you did it every week it was bad for your skin and made acne.
