After trying Artis Brushes I don’t want to use anything else, you won’t either. I tried three brushes from Artis and I have my eye on 2 more (actually I’m dying for them). Artis brushes are visually gorgeous. They look sleek and stylish. You will want to show them off on your vanity, these are not brushes that you put away. The actual brush is so soft, definitely the softest brush I have ever used. The “hairs” on the brush are man-made fibres called CosmeFibre and have microscopically tapered ends for a smoother makeup application. They are easy to use and hold which allows me to quickly apply my makeup because I don’t have to go back and reblend. The three brushes I tried are the Elite – Linear 1, the Fluenta – Oval 6 and the Fluenta – Circle 1R. These brushes are the Rolls Royce of brushes.
I’ll start with the Elite Linear 1. It is narrow and can be used to apply eyeliner and it is great for filling in brows. I am obsessed with it. I have been using it to fill my brows and my brows have never looked so perfect. I don’t know how I have lived without this brush. It’s easy to use and even though I’m not a professional makeup artist when I do my brows with this I feel like I am. If you care about your eyebrows you need to buy this.
The second brush I tried from Artis is the Fluenta – Oval 6 Brush. Is exclusive to Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. This brush is designed to apply product to your eyelid, foundation, contouring for cheekbone area and to apply blush. I used this for foundation and blush. When I tried it for eyeshadow it was a little large for my eyes. As a foundation brush and blush brush it’s incredible. I use to hate using a brush for my foundation because my foundation always looked liney and I always had a hard time blending. So I was strictly a sponge user for my foundation, this has converted me to a foundation brush. I can’t imagine using anything else now after trying this. I really want to try the Oval 7 which I have heard is the perfect foundation brush. After using the Fluenta – Oval 6 Brush made my foundation look airbrushed and my blush looked natural. It comes in a beautiful velvet box that has a magnetic closure. It looks very luxurious in the box and I was complimenting myself on my amazing application.
The last brush that I tried is the Artis Fluenta – Circle 1 Brush. This is also exclusive to Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s. This brush has more of a tilt than the other brushes that I tried. The brush is round and can be used to apply lipstick or concealer. It is great for both. When I applied my lipstick my lips looked buffed and soft. When I used it with concealer it really covered up my spots and I also used it around the corner of my eyes and nose for more coverage and hard to reach places.
On my wish list, I want the Oval 7 & 8. I need them, you need them. You will want to buy these brushes because after you try them you will not want to use another brush. Don’t forget to read our interview with the founder of Artis Brush, Matthew Waitesmith.
