Sebastien Lagree, is the creator of the one-of-a-kind fitness equipment called the Proformer, the Megaformer, and the new Supraformer, all designed at his Los Angeles headquarters.  His exercise equipment is a core-burning workout for both men and women, it blends Pilates, cardio, and strength training.  Sebastien is a renowned LA based fitness expert his Lagree Fitness program and fitness equipment has been made famous by Michelle Obama, Jennifer Aniston, Sofia Vergara, Kim Kardashian, Courtney Cox, Britney Spears, Nicole Kidman and more. He is also opening a new fitness studio in Beverly Hills using his  Supraformer fitness machines. He has appeared numerous times on national television, magazines and newspapers in the country featuring Lagree Fitness Method and equipment. Sebastien opened his first studio in December 2001 and expanded worldwide.  His workout system and machines are in over 300 fitness studios, in cities such as Mexico City to Dubai and across the United States.

 

Today Sebastien shares some fitness tips with us:

 

What do you recommend to get people started on their fitness goals?
Diet. You cannot out train a bad diet. Get the diet under “control” first and then slowly add the physical activities to your schedule. The most common mistake is to do too much at once like Diet + exercise an hour 5 days a week. I recommend a slow and steady approach to make PERMANENT changes to your lifestyle, unless you are a movie star and need to get your body ready for a role, of course 😉

What inspired you to create the Megaformer?
I wanted to make my workout regimen more intense and aerobics.
There are 3 generations of equipment I created.The Megaformer is the 2nd generation after the Proformer.
As you progress through the generations, you will notice that the equipment is more intense on the body and aerobic but still keep the workout very low impact making ideal for anyone and everyone to use.

How does it differ from a regular Pilates reformer?
The Pilates Reformer is designed to do movements while laying on the back for therapeutic purposes. The Reformer is not I would call a fitness equipment.

Can anyone use the Megaformer?
Yes, the Megaformer is adaptable to all fitness levels and ages (from 16 to 90).

What’s the biggest fitness mistake do you see people make?
Doing too much of the wrong exercises. Most people don’t question fitness, they think that all fitness regimen are the same and that all bodies are created equally: WRONG. Find the right kind of fitness regimen for your body.

What’s the best tip you can give people who are trying to lose weight?
Stay away from sugar!

Ultimately you want to change your entire lifestyle, but “every journey begins with one step”
Focus on small and realistic changes, for instance, drink more water. Water helps burn body fat.
Goal 1: drink 1 glass of water a day, once you now drink 1 additional glass of water a day without thinking about it, got to goal 2; and so on.
