The Beauty Wrap Up with Dr. Sophia Kogan

Nutrafol

Dr. Sophia Kogan is one of the developers of Nutrafol, a supplement for both men and women that helps hair loss and thinning hair.  It has been featured in the Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, Mashable, Men’s Fitness just to name several. Dr. Kogan earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York, where she studied Dermatology. Her interests in holistic and integrative medicine and how they affect the health of hair and skin lead her to help develop Nutrafol.  Hairloss in men and women can be caused by lack of nutrition, hormones, aging, genetics, over-styling and stress.  Nutrafol is  a supplement that helps the regrowth of hair keeping it healthy and strong.

Dr. Kogan shares some of her picks with us today:

Lipstick or Lipgloss: Definitely Lipgloss. I never got used to wearing lipsticks and actually don’t really own any. I can’t live without lipgloss however – love the shiny natural color and look.

Natural or Glam: I always gravitate towards natural.

Brigitte Bardot or Audrey Hepburn: Hmmm this is a tough one. Brigitte is super sexy, but I’ve been in love with Audrey and her look forever! I would have to say Audrey Hepburn.

Instagram or Snapchat: Instagram.

Traditional Mani or Nail Art: Traditional, but there are always occasions to be more creative. Truthfully, I rarely color my nails – I really do like the natural clean look and I like to let my nails breathe.

Blow out or air dry:  Air Dry of course! Two reasons: 1. I am a girl with curls and I like to keep them naturally curly most of the time, so air drying works well. 2. I council on hair health and natural ways to counter hair thinning. Blow drying generates heat and free radicals that can damage hair and the scalp. Nothing wrong with an occasional treat (or even a 1-2 times a week may be okay), but I see too many women overdo blow outs (daily), which I think contributes to the rise of hair thinning that we see in women today.

NY or LA: I am a die-hard New Yorker

Blush or Bronzer: I love my bronzer, but I’ve recently added a blush – so now I am committed to both!
