There are more reasons to visit the Queen Mary than just to do the ghost hunts like I normally do. You need to go to the Queen Mary for the food and the views. The ship has a variety of restaurants that are all amazing, Promenade Cafe, Chelsea Chowder House & Bar, Sir Winston’s and the Observation Bar. I’m already planning my next visit to go back and eat at one of the restaurants.
I did a mini food tour of the Queen Mary recently and I started at the Promenade Cafe. This is their casual dining restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. I had amazing chicken and waffles there. Next time I do a mini staycation at the Queen Mary I am going to get the chicken and waffles again and I saw that they have short rib tater tots that I have to try. The promenade cafe also has amazing views of the water.
My next stop was at the Chelsea Chowder house. Which is a contemporary take on a tradintional British chowder house. It feels very nautical and modern at the same time. The food is amazing here. I loved the lobster rolls and the Louisiana BBQ shrimp which is spicy and served on toast. There is also a happy hour menu here that I need to come back to explore. They also have a bunch of craft cocktails that are so beautiful. I highly recommend the one with the candied hibiscus flower and the charcoal one with gold leaf.
I forgot the name of these craft cocktails served at the Chelsea Chowder House but they are a must. The views from this resturant are also perfect. It’s a great way to spend an evening. Then after dinner you can wander around the ship or take a tour.
I have always wanted to eat at Sir Winston’s. It’s the Queen Mary’s fine dining resturant. When you step inside you get taken back in time. It’s really a magical resturant. I had the beef wellington, it’s to die for. I have been craving it and I need to go back to have it again. The resturant is very romantic and has stunning views from every table. There is also a piano lounge to hang out in before or after dinner.
If you want to catch the sunset and have a drink. The Observation bar is where you need to go. They have a patio where you can sit outside. They have fun speciality drinks to order. The bar has a lively atmosphere and if you are just visiting the Queen Mary for the day or staying the night it’s the perfect place to get a drink.
I can’t wait to go back and really indulge at some of the restaurants. Sunday brunch is supposed to be amazing at the Queen Mary so that’s next on my list! If you want to read more about these places you can check them out here, The Queen Mary.
