This is a really easy quinoa salad that is healthy and delicious.  Quinoa is a well known super food, and is gluten-free. Even though it is technically a seed it is prepared like a grain.  It is filled with flavonoids which are antioxidants that help with anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-depressant effects. It is also high in fiber which means it will keep you feeling full longer, help with your digestive track, help with weight loss, lower cholesterol and reduce blood sugar levels. Quinoa is also high in protein and is high in minerals such as magnesium, potassium and zinc.   The weekend is here and it’s time to make a cocktail or two.  I recently tried Van Gogh’s Pomegranate Vodka.  Which you can easily drink on the rocks or mixed into a cocktail.  This vodka has a few different fruits in it that make it a more complex than other pom vodka’s.  The pomegranates that Van Gogh uses are from Spain.  The other fruits that are in this vodka are strawberry, cranberry and orange.  It’s not overly sweet there is a balance of sweet and bitter in the flavor.  It also received 95 points from Wine Enthusiast.  Here are some recipes I made with the pom vodka.     Cocktail One (I couldn’t think of names for these) Ingredients 1 tablespoon of pomegranate seeds 1/2-1 teaspoon of superfine sugar (to taste) 2 lime wedges 1.5 oz oz of Pomegranate Vodka 2 ounces seltzer Directions Mix seeds, sugar, and lime…

By now you have heard of Bulletproof coffee and while that is a trend now.  It may not be healthy for everyone.  It is a lot of calories and is supposed to be a meal replacement.  But the reality of drinking coffee with butter is that it can raise your cholesterol and deprive you of the nutrients you need. Coconut oil in your coffee or tea is better.  It’s better because you can still have your breakfast in the morning and it will increase your metabolism.  It is also like a cleanse so you will be cleaning out your gut when drinking this.  I have been drinking it every morning for a week and have lost 3lbs.
