I’m on the constant hunt to find a foundation that doesn’t look like I’m wearing foundation. So no makeup, makeup is what I want. But I still want coverage to coverup my flaws, but still making me looking natural. I also want my makeup to last all day with very little touching up. That’s hard to find, until now. I tried Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Water and Studio Skin Foundation. I love them both so much. I did the ultimate test, I wore the foundation to a workout. I know this is a huge no no but I wanted to see how well it would stand up (usually I’m bare-faced when working out). The workout was hard, it was TRX and was an intense hour, my muscles are still sore from 5 days ago.
I started with the Photo Finish Primer Water on a clean face. I did a couple of spritz’s that covered my face. It feels really light on and hydrating. If you don’t like the feel of heavy cream/gel primers then you will love this. I haven’t tried the original Smashbox Photo Finish Primer so I can’t compare the difference. After you spray it over your face let it kinda dry then apply your foundation, your foundation should go on smoothly. I think a primer is key to long-lasting makeup and having it look flawless throughout the day, or at an event. The great thing about the Primer Water is you can also use it to set your makeup. I did both I sprayed it underneath my foundation and on top to set it. When I was done with my workout class my skin still looked perfect, not blotchy at all. The Photo Finish Primer can also be used as a skin refresher throughout the day, for a quick pick me up.
I love Smashbox’s Studio Skin Foundation. It doesn’t feel makeupy on and you can build coverage with it. After I sprayed the Photo Finish Primer Water I applied the Studio Skin Foundation with a foundation sponge. I start in the center of my face where there is more discoloration (reddening around your nose and lips) and then blend out towards my ears. If I feel like I need a little more coverage I will just a dab on the spots and buff for an airbrushed look. The Studio Skin Foundation is light enough where I don’t feel like I’m wearing makeup but it still gives great coverage. Even after sweating like crazy in my workout class my makeup still looked great.
These two products, the Photo Finish Primer Water and the Studio Skin Foundation are great for those holiday parties and events. You won’t have to worry about touching your makeup all night. I love both of these so much.
I definitely want to try Smashbox’s Liquid Halo HD Foundation and their Camera Ready BB Water SPF 30.
