Stephanie Duttenhaver and Cindy Edwards are the founders of Sapelo Skin Care.  A new luxury skin care line based out of Savannah, Georgia.  They have created a three-step, 28 day skin care system that will help restore skin and prevent aging.  They use unique ingredients that are native to Georgia such as Gardenia stem cells, magnolia oil extract and oyster shell just to name a few.  Their products are also free of silicones, alcohol, sulphates, mineral oil and more.  The packaging is gorgeous and the products are amazing.  Stephanie and Cindy have created the perfect skin care line.

Today they share some of their favorite beauty products and tips:

It’s fun to shop in different regions around the country because makeup artists have different ideas on how to approach a look. A wonderful makeup artist at Forty Five Ten in Dallas introduced me to Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Cheek Color in Pale Pink. The color is much lighter than what I usually wear, but I love it. It gives a true natural blush to my skin, and it really sticks to my foundation. Plus, it has no artificial colors or fragrance and no heavy metals, which blends well with my approach to skin care.

I am devoted to Christian Dior eye shadows. My current favorite is the 5 Couleurs in Femme-Fleur, but 5 Couleurs in Mystic Jade is a close second. Both are the perfect palettes for green and hazel eye colors. This shadow stays in place all day and has a slight shimmer that is not too “sparkly” for over-40 eyelids.

And forgive me for plugging my own brand, but I could not live without Sapelo’s Gentle Seaweed Cleanser. I worked closely with our cosmetic scientist to develop a cleanser so gentle that your skin experiences zero dryness or tightness after use. You could cleanse with this product 3 times a day and it would not dry out your skin. And the fragrance is divine.

My Beauty Tip: I buy packs of super soft, very small baby wash cloths to clean my face and remove makeup, including eye makeup. If I am travelling, I take several wash cloths with me and leave the used ones behind. They are inexpensive, so I don’t feel guilty throwing them away. When I’m at home, I just wash and reuse them. My house guests love them too!

My dry, sensitive skin craves Sapelo Skin Care’s 3-Step System. It keeps my complexion dewy, plump and super hydrated. Every morning and night, I wash my face with the Sapelo Gentle Seaweed Cleanser and apply the Renewing Serum, Rejuvenating Cream and Softening Emollient. I helped create Sapelo’s products, so when I use them on myself, I know I’m getting gentle, healthy, effective skin repair.

When I find a beauty product I like, I am loyal to it. I discovered MAC’s Studio Fix Powder more than 20 years ago, and I still love it today. It makes touch-ups a breeze, and I can easily control the coverage.
My absolute favorite lipstick is Revlon Copperglaze Sienna: It always perks me up!

Beauty tip: “I always use the ring finger on my left (non-dominant) hand to gently apply my moisturizer and concealer to the eye area.”
