I had the pleasure of getting a blowout recently with Ryan and it’s been the best blowout I have had all year. He originally began his career as a hair stylist in Boston, where he trained under the co-creator of Living Proof. In 2016, he won the Wella TrendVision competition in the Color Vision category. His passion is in color and is an expert at natural blondes, balayaged brunettes, rich reds, and transformational looks.
Today he shares some hair tips with us:
Your Favorite hair color for fall:
Right now I have been doing so much platinum white and I love the brightness it brings into your life as summer is ending.
Recent Beauty Splurge:
Beverly Hills Center for Plastic & Laser surgery Skin Care Line. My skin has been loving me since!
Best advice you have received:
You do work for a dram, and you don’t start from the top.
Hair tip that anyone can do at home:
Smooth out the frizzy/curly hairs around your face by using your blow dryer on medium heat and only with your fingers. Pull the hairs in the direction you want them to go and use the dryer so the air is flowing in the same direction. This will pull them straighter without damaging heat of a straightening iron.
Where do you find inspiration?
I like to learn about past and present environmental and economical factors and see how they influence us and trends. Using that to find inspiration for future trends. I also find inspiration from the people I surround myself in life and on social media.
Hair product you wish was invented:
I wish there was a pill that you could take and it would stop the hair from going grey or slow it down.
What’s the biggest mistake you see women do when changing their hair color?
Going far/doing too much in one appointment and not using the right products or styling techniques when they achieve their new color.
Best Drugstore Buy:
Carmex Lip Balm. I always have one in arms reach, only lip product I will use.
Song you are listening to on repeat:
Location by Khalid
Hair trend you wish would go away:
Rose Gold Hair. It only looks good in the right lighting and it fades extremely quickly, usually leaving an undesirable tone in the hair.
One product you can’t live without:
Always in your fridge:
