Conejo Valley

I love a good staycation! I recently spent three days in Conejo Valley. If you aren’t familiar with the Conejo Valley it’s Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and Newbury Park. It’s a short drive from LA and Orange County and if you love hiking and exploring new areas it’s a must visit. You can escape to a really pretty area without having to go to far.

I do love lounging around when I go on vacation but I really love exploring cities and seeing what they have to offer. We stayed at the Sheraton in Aguora Hills and the bed was so comfy that I probably could’ve slept the entire day. The location of the hotel is really convienant to everything and makes it the perfect place to stay.

I was really excited to explore Conejo Valley because the only city I was really familiar with was Malibu. There are so many things to do in the Conejo Valley. From wine tasting with exotic animals at the Malibu Wine Safari. To goat yoga with Lavenderwood Yoga or an after noon at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library if you really take your time and enjoy the views from the library you could spend a whole day there. But if you are feeling extra athletic you need to go visit Mamba Sports Academy. Which has indoor beach volleyball, top of the line sports equipment, cryotherapy and so much more.

Malibu Wine Safaris I definitely want to go back to, it’s great way to spend the afternoon. You get on a safari car and drive through the vineyard tasting wines and feeding zebras and giraffes. You can learn about the different varitions of wine that the vinyard has and the property itself is stunning. It’s the perfect way to spend the day.

Goat Yoga with Lavenderwood yoga was another highlight of my trip because it was so fun and the goats are so sweet and cuddly. Starting off your morning with these cute little goats and yoga is the perfect way to start any day. It was hard for me to stay focused in yoga because I just had to cuddle every goat that was near me. What I love about Lavenderwood Yoga is their goats are really friendly and sweet. You can tell that they are really loved and cared for.

The Ronald Reagan Presidental Library is beautiful. It’s located in Simi Valley. Learning about President Reagan is interesting. It’s also where he and Nancy Reagan are laid to rest. The views from the property are breathtaking. There are a lot of activites in the Reagan library that you can do which makes it really fun for all ages. There is also a presidential plane and helicopter inside the library. You can walk inside and see what it was like to fly like a president! Makes a great photo opportunity.

Mamba Sports Academy is really cool. They have indoor volley ball courts, state of the art equipment, cryotherapy and so much more. You can head over to Mamba Sports Academy and do a day pass to try everything out. I tried the Cryo Chamber and loved it. It makes you feel more energized and helps with muscles aches and pains. They also have brain exercise classes, and gaming there. They have experts on their staff from doctors to former atheltic experts to help with any questions you might have. So if you are looking to improve your athletic ability or just workout like you are a pro then you need to check out Mamba Sports Academy.

If you are looking for a great place to grab lunch head over to the Twisted Oak Tavern in Agoura Hills for great salads and if you love beer they have a great selection. It’s a great place to get a casual lunch. It has a really cool atmosphere.

If you are looking to try an amazing Tomahawk steak go to The Park Restaurant and Bar, you can see in the photo it’s a great steak to share. It was cooked perfectly. The resturant has a lively atmosphere and the bar area is packed!

A fun Mexican lunch is always good head over to Plata Taqueria & Cantina. They also have amazing margaritas. The patio is so pretty and the food is to die for. When you enter you’ll feel like you’re on a mini vacation.

I also loved LadyFace Ale Companie’s steak frites and a glass of wine. The LadyFace Ale Companie was started by a women and she created a beer tasting for women to learn about beer. Beer tastings are very similar to wine tastings. The resturant is really charming and I will definitely be back.

If you want a grab and go lunch you have to go to Uncle Af’s and get the fire chicken sandwich and his famous ice tea. The ice tea is made with cardamon and some other secret ingriedients. It was voted in Yelp’s top 100 places to check out in the nation. It’s mostly to-go but there are a few places to sit if you want to eat in.

For the sweet tooth lover you have to go to Sweet Arlene’s it’s won cupcake wars three times and they have the best cupcakes! For breakfast two places that I tried and loved was Jinky’s get the avocado toast and Wildflour Bakery, the croissant sandwich was amazing. There was also a really cute hidden brewery we checked out called 14 Cannons it’s hard to find but worth the visit.

Now that I know how close the Conejo Valley is, I will definitely go back to explore more, take a few of the hikes and relax for a few days!
