Are you looking for the perfect weekend getaway? I always love a good staycation just to recharge and getaway for a little. I escaped to The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel located in Huntington Beach. The resort is located right across from the beach, my room had amazing views of the ocean and I could catch gorgeous views of the sunset from my balcony. The property also has an amazing new spa, Drift Spa, that is worth the visit even if you are not staying at the hotel.
I started my day at the Drift Spa service here is amazing. As soon as I started walking towards the spa, I had someone greet me at the door and walk me in. I was given their fresh elixir of the day and they seated my in their beautiful lobby so I could enjoy my drink. At the spa they have a ritual that is so wonderful, there are a bowl of shells and you can choose one from the bowl. This is to start your spa day with a purpose, if you need to release something, if you want to welcome something into your life or even if you want to set an intention. When you enter the spa you leave it in another bowl to begin your spa journey.
Inside the spa there are amazing amenities, from a lavender steam room to steam away your stress, to a Himalayan salt sauna to help with muscle aches and pains. In the relaxation room there is an elixir bar that you can make your own tea tonic that varies from stress, skin tea, muscle and joint tea, and vitality tea. You can also add tinctures to it to customize what you need.
After I had experienced all the spa amenities I headed into my facial appointment. I had the Roses and Rosé Facial at the new Drift Spa that is special for Valentine’s Day. The treatment rooms are amazing, they are relaxing and beds are so comfortable that you just drift away. The facials are done with Elemis products. The Rosé facial has many rose elements to it it starts off with rose aromatherapy to relax you. It’s an anti-aging and collagen boosting facial. It’s great before you get ready for Valentine’s Day or if you just want to treat yourself to looking like the best version of yourself. My skin was left glowing and very hydrated. Then at the end of the facial you are given a glass of rosé champagne to enjoy. My skin hasn’t looked this refreshed in a long time, I can easily say this is one of the best facials I have ever had.
The suites are amazing and even if you are not escaping for a Valentine’s Day Getaway this resort makes for the perfect weekend getaway. The rooms are big and my balcony faced the ocean. They are bright and give you that beachy feel. I love the beds and the robes in the room. Everyone knows how much I love a good robe and these have been my favorite from any hotel stay.
There is also a pool with slides, I have to come back and try those. The hotel also has a beach with fire pits so you can relax out there with a glass of wine or you can make S’mores. I wish it wasn’t raining while I was here so I could’ve done that, just another reason to come back.
The The Waterfront Beach Resort has a rooftop lounge, Offshore 9 but because of the storm it was closed. I did go up and got a look of the view and it has stunning views of the ocean. It looks like the perfect place to have a few light bites and watch the sunset.
I did go to the indoor lounge, The Dock, it is vibrant and in the middle of the hotel so you can relax and enjoy the energy of the resort. The recently started making craft cocktails and they are amazing. The juices they make are all freshly pressed and many of the drinks are created by staff members in the hotel. The guava mojito was so fresh and made me feel like I was relaxing in the Caribbean. I also tried the Mariposita which was made with prickly pear which was hot pink and delicious. We also had a small appetizer there, grilled Spanish Octopus that is served with Muhammara and purple potatoes. It was incredible.
After drinks we headed to dinner at The Boardwalk which serves breakfast lunch and dinner. It’s casual dining with a fine dining menu. The food was incredible. The menu compares to any fine dining restaurant. We started with lobster mac n cheese that was to die for. The aged cheddar fondue in the mac n cheese is what brings all the flavors together. We also had the roasted branzino, one of my favorite fishes. You could say I am a branzino expert. This was prepared and plated perfectly. It was served with sunchokes, haircot verts and finished with a lemon brown butter sauce. If you love fish you need to go and try this. The second dish we got was the Omega blue Salmon served on a top of black beluga lentils, mixed with winter root vegetables and salmon skin chicharron. This was another perfect dish. We finished the dinner with a special dessert from Chef Stanley. It was the perfect way to end our dinner.
The Waterfront Beach Resort is the perfect getaway. There are so many amenities at the hotel that you never have to leave the resort, unless you want to walk across the street to the beach. I will be escaping back here very soon!
