Staycation at the Glenmark Hotel

I love staycations since I was little. My mom would often take me to stay in hotels on a whim. My dad lived in hotels for 10 months at a time when he would go to China for work and I would stay with him. You could say I’m a hotel expert. I would confidently say I’m a modern day Eloise.

I think staycations are more important now because we have so many travel restrictions and sometimes getting away for a night can really just help your mental health. It can make you feel well rested and give you the reset that you need. I recently stayed at the Glenmark Hotel that is located in Glendale, California.

The hotel is new and the rooms are so comfortable. When I do staycation’s I have a few reasons on why I choose a hotel. Most of the time is that I need to get rest and relax because when I am home I work till all hours of the night. The rooms at the Glenmark are cozy and comfy. Which was what I needed. I needed a place where I could watch movies, lay in a robe a day and get the rest that I need.

The beds are so comfortable that I usually have a hard time falling asleep at home and when I went to sleep at the Glenmark I fell asleep right away. I love how spacious the rooms are too. The shower is amazing and I love how the bathroom mirror turns on touch-less. The rooms are really chic and relaxing.

The Glenmark has two great restaurants on the property. They have a gorgeous rooftop lounge that serves small bites called Mila and I’ll tell you we don’t have too many roof top bars in LA this one is definitely worth the visit. You can have cocktails, eat small bites and enjoy the sunset at Mila Rooftop restaurant. I love that they also have fire pits where the sofas are.

Some of the dishes that we loved at Mila is the flatbread (it was so good that we ordered two), the burrata, the ceviche and hamachi. I love that it’s all tapas style. They also have great wines and cocktails. I really loved their Aperol Spritz which was perfect for the warm evening.

The Glenmark is located in Glendale and it’s a short drive from really great restaurants if you want to venture out and you can also walk it if you want to really feel like you’re on a vacation it’s a short walk away from their main street. The food is so good at both restaurants in the Glenmark that you don’t need to leave.

I love their coffee shop that serves Intelligentsia which is one of my favorite coffees. Their other restaurant is located on the lobby level of the hotel is called, Olio Restaurant. They serve breakfast and lunch and there is plenty of outdoor seating. We had breakfast there and brought it up to our room. We had the acai bowl, avocado toast and their traditional American breakfast. I will definitely go back and explore the menu more. We ate so much the two days we were there that we didn’t get to try their lunch and will have to go back for that. It gives me something to look forward to on my next visit.

If you need to get away and book your next staycation at the Glenmark, you’ll be happy that you did. You can relax, eat well and really get recentered. Book here, The Glenmark Hotel .
