Allegretto Vineyard Resort

Overseas travel has been out of the question this year and that had me longing for my summers in Europe. I found my own piece of Europe in Paso Robles at Allegretto Vineyard Resort. The property has a zen feeling and transports you to Tuscany. You’ll feel like you are walking around the countryside of Italy. The resort is also centrally located in Paso Robles so you can explore the city. It’s the best getaway and if you are in Southern California it’s a great way to explore wine country and not have to head north.

If you just want a lovely hotel stay there are so many things you can do while staying at Allegretto. You can wine taste on property, there is an Allegretto Wine tasting room that is located in the resort. They have beautiful single vineyard wines and estate wines. If you want a great dining experience Cello Ristorante & Bar is amazing. We had breakfast and dinner, we loved everything we tried. If you want a quiet evening sit outside by the fire bowls and have a glass of wine with pizza. You can relax in a cabana by the pool all day if that’s the experience you are looking for. The pool has a view of the vineyards and gardens. It’s a magical. I loved walking in the mornings around the property and exploring the gardens and enjoying the peaceful moments away from the city. There is a sonic labyrinth that is a great place to walk and set intentions and manifest.

If you want to explore wineries there are so many to choose from in Paso Robles that it can be difficult to navigate. The ones that I visited are amazing and had great wines and atmosphere. We started our day Tolosa Winery, they have a small outdoor space so you will need to make reservations. They are known for the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays which are incredible.

I also loved Treana & Hope Family Wines, they are a family owned winery and have a gorgeous outdoor space. It is great to go there with a few friends they have set up private sections at their tasting room that can accommodate larger groups. You will also have to make a reservation there. I also love that they practice sustainable farming and practices in their wine making. You can also order cheese pairings with the tasting there. If you want to enjoy lunch at a winery head over to Calcareous Vineyard & Winery. Their patio overlooks the valley and their you can enjoy sandwiches and salads with 180 views of rolling hills. You can have a wine tasting with lunch or just order a wine by the glass. A favorite by many is Justin Vineyards and Winery. Justin’s winery is bright and airy, they do have a large patio that is surrounded by vineyards. It’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon tasting and eating. You will have to make a reservation for a tasting. They are known for their Bordeaux style wines, if you haven’t had them yet you will want to!

One restaurant I always stop at when I am in Paso is Thomas Hill Organics. It’s is a farm to table style restaurant using only the freshest organic ingredients. I have never had a bad meal there and they have a beautiful patio. It’s a must go to when you are in Paso. Another must do while in Paso Robles is Sensorio, Field of Light experience. Photos do not do this beautiful art installation justice. It is really stunning to see all these lights in the rolling fields. I highly recommend getting there right at sunset so you can see the change from day to night. The VIP experience is great because you can sit and watch the lights all evening around fire pits and enjoy a glass a wine outdoors in this magical space. This is also a family friendly experience.

Allegretto Vineyard Resort is a place I will continue to visit over the years. I can’t wait to go back.
