Now that things have been slowly opening up during the pandemic I have been searching for places to go that are a drive away. Santa Barbara has always been one of my favorite getaways because it’s a short drive from LA and Orange County. I took my mom and my friend to stay a couple of nights at the Hideaway Santa Barbara. It’s a cute boutique hotel that is tucked away in a neighborhood and it’s walking distance from Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone.
The Hideaway is small so you need to book in advance it only has eight rooms. We stayed in the largest room which has one king and two twins with a cute sitting area. The decor of the hotel is beautiful. It’s California Coastal, so everything is bright and fresh looking. The rooms are calming because the colors are soft whites, blues and grays. It’s really a great place to unwind and relax. If you are worried about safety this hotel is very safe. You have very limited contact with people here. There is turn down service if you request it. Since the rooms are basically their own little suites you don’t see other guests because they all have their own entrance.
There is no restaurant on site but they do offer a fresh warm breakfast every morning. They get all their ingredients daily from a local farmers market. All the breakfast’s are vegetarian and organic. They offered very healthy breakfasts while we were there, a rice bowl with veggies one morning and fruit. The second morning they had a Shakshuka with quinoa and poached eggs and a banana muffin. In the afternoon the hotel offers a champagne cocktail hour and warm baked cookies. All pastries are made onsite and baked fresh daily.
I love that there are so many great restaurants a short walk away. It took us about 10 minutes to get to them. The Funk Zone is the place where you will find Santa Barbara’s newest eateries. There are also several tasting rooms in the area that you can sit outside and enjoy the weather.
Every morning we walked to the beach and that is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. It was a great way to relax and get a mini vacation. The beaches in Santa Barbara are so beautiful and it’s nice to be walking distance to the coast.
If you are looking to escape the city or just need a few days to relax head over to the Hideaway Santa Barbara. It’s charming, relaxing and you’ll have privacy to just reset and center yourself. I always love a 3 night stay somewhere because it really makes you feel rested. I will definitely go back to stay at one of their other rooms because I love how restful I felt after leaving the Hideaway.
