Happy International Women’s Day! I am huge on supporting other women and lifting them up, celebrating each others achievements and just supporting one another. International Women’s Day is important because it celebrates social, cultural, economic, political achievements women have accomplished. It also helps raise awareness for equality and bias. Let’s raise visibility to women owned brands and make a positive difference. Here are some of my favorite women owned brands!
The leaders in K Beauty, Glow Recipe started off on in 2015 Shark Tank and they were offered and investment and turned it down. Founders Christine Chang and Sarah Lee created a cult following with their skin care line. I use at least one Glow Recipe or Sweet Chef (their newest line of skin care) product daily and know that it really has given my skin that bounce that it started lacking. You can’t go wrong with any of the products, I have tried so many and love all of them.
Jennifer Yen who has two brands Purlisse and Yensa incorporates Asian ingredients and culture into her products. Specifically Chinese ingredients and wisdom. Purlisse is a gentle skin care line that she created. Yensa is a superfoods based makeup and skincare line. I love Purlisse’s Blue Lotus collection and I love the BC Foundation from Yensa.
Hands down one of my favorite skin care and cosmetic brands. Cle is so chic. It was founded by Lauren Jin. I love the packaging and everything I have tried. Some of my highlights are the Multi Cream it smells like Palo Santo (someone stole it from my hotel room, it’s that good), the Vitamin C Elixir, Dry Masks, the CCC Cream, the Melting Lip Powder. Go stock up! You won’t regret it.
Not only does Lauren B. make the prettiest colors in nail polishes she does them by being free of toxins that can be harmful. Lauren B. Beauty is a 7 free polish. She has really fun names many of them are LA themed. She makes my favorite white polish, it’s the whitest white without looking like you dipped your fingers in white out it’s called Hollywoodland. All her colors are good!
If you know me you know I love all things luxury and one of my favorite luxury skin care lines is Nannette de Gaspé. Nannette herself is an elegant woman who started in the corporate world and wanted to create a skin care line that would make women feel empowered in their own skin. Some of my favorites from her line are the Elixir Noir Face Oil, Youth Revealed Reparative & Restorative Hand Cream, the Essence Noir Facial Cloths and her masks. I’m obsessed and you will be too.
Not all skin care boxes are created equally. Glory Skincare is one of the best ones you can get. Founded by Alisia Ford who was a former Nike executive. All the skincare that is on Glory Skincare’s site goes through an approval process which omits ingredients from the toxic twenty. The products that are chosen are non-toxic skincare products. There is skin care quiz you can take to help you find products that are best for your skin.
This line that I am about to introduce you to is created by an award winning cosmetic scientist, Dr. Shuting Hu. Acaderma is an non-toxic skin care line that marries science and beauty to help fight signs of aging, dullness, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and more. Some of my favorite products from the line are the Stabilizing Toner and the Star Light which is a spot corrector.
I love a good Kajal liner and they are very hard to find. Kulif Beauty is founded by Priyanka Ganjoo. Her brand is brand new it just launched February 16th. Right now she has five great eye liners that you will want in your makeup arsenal.
Violet Grey is one of my favorite stores in LA, it’s located on Melrose Place. It has the best curated beauty products. When you walk in, it’s everything you have ever wanted in one place, the beauty boutique is dreamy. It is founded by Cassandra Grey and if you aren’t in LA you can shop all these products online at Violet Grey, this is one of those places where I tell them take all my money and I have no regrets about it. She really has her pulse on creating your perfect beauty & skin care wardrobe.
